Activstudio-Object Properties

Object properties are one method that flipcharts have that can help to make your presentations more engaging than powerpoint. You can have students come to the board and interact with the activities that you create.

Download the flipchart above to get started, then come back at the end of the session to answer these questions -

1. Share one specific example of how you could use some of these “object properties” in a lesson (for example, the matching geometric shapes page).

2. With regards to Activstudio, what features would you like to spend more time learning? (library, promethean planet, object properties, toolboxes, lesson creation, others?)

3. What are your feelings with regards to Classrooms for the Future so far? What has worked well and what hasn’t?

Today, we looked at some of the different tools and resources available with Activstudio and the Promethean Activboard. These interactive boards are considered to be an integral component to a 21st century learning environment. One of the key aspects to a 21st century learning environment is student engagement - are the students actively engaged with the material they are learning? In reflecting on what you learned today and how it relates to 21st century learning, briefly post a response to the following questions (as a comment).

  1. Share one example of how you could use the activboard in your classroom as part of a “21st century learning experience.”
  2. Share something that you found during your exploration (a webpage, a tool, a resource in the library, a flipchart on promethean planet).
  3. What are you interested in learning more about?
